I know that I haven't blogged in forever! I haven't stopped blogging I have just been super lazy about it for a long time. As of now I'm back to school and Richard is working. I have almost made it to midterm and I will graduate in December. For something new, Richard and I are working on a house plan and hope to start building no later than next spring. That is all for now, but I will try and catch up on blogging from the summer.

Spring Break & Easter 2010

My spring break started on, March 29th, and will end tomorrow on, April 7th. I didn't do anything too exciting. I did some homework here and there and mainly just relaxed. On April 1st I went to Red Lodge and Billings with my mom and mother-in-law, Careen. I always look forward to shopping with those two because I know it will mainly be for decorations. I was able to get some really cute decorations for our house. We also ate at McKenzie River Pizza for lunch, which was really good. We were gone all day long and had a great time together. Other than that I really didn't do anything else over spring break. I'm looking forward to going back to classes and getting back into a routine. I only have around 16 days left and this semester will be over. I'm definitely looking forward to that.

Easter weekend was filled with spending time with family and watching General Conference. Sunday morning, Richard and I went to my parents to watch conference. My mom made a yummy breakfast, which we enjoyed while watching the first little bit of conference. Between the two sessions we just talked and relaxed. After the last session of conference was over we helped my mom make deviled eggs for dinner that night at Becky and Greg's. Richard and I left my parents house to go home and grab a salad before going up to Becky and Greg's house. We enjoyed Easter dinner at their house with Richard's family, my parents, and Greg's dad and his wife. The food was really good and the company was even better. The Easter bunny was really nice this year and gave Richard and I an Easter basket with all of our favorite candy (my parents) and some decorative eggs (Richard's parents). The best thing about this Easter was having the opportunity to listen to the Prophet and apostles. I enjoyed all the talks and felt a strong spirit. Its always amazing how the people who give talks aren't assigned a certain topic, but there is always a combining theme throughout General Conference. This just goes to show how the Lord has a hand in all things.

It Has Been a Year Already

Richard and I celebrated our one year anniversary on Sunday, March 14. We spent that weekend in Billings celebrating. We left Friday after I got done with my morning classes, spent the night on Friday, and came home Saturday night. On Friday when we got to Billings we went to a couple of stores and bought some items for our house we have been wanting. Around four we checked into our hotel and hung out there until around seven thirty when we went to dinner. We went to the new Jake's Bar and Grill over by Costco. It wasn't the best meal ever and it was kind of pricey. Richard ordered a baseball cut stake and I ordered ribs. Mine turned out good, but Richard pretty much got a rare stake, but wouldn't send it back. He just ate the outside of it, but still had some trouble getting a few pieces down. On Saturday we went to breakfast at Crackle Barrel because they have really good french toast. After breakfast we went to a couple more stores and then went home. We enjoyed spending time together and doing something a little different.

I just want Richard to know that our first year together was more than I could have hoped for. I'm grateful he chose me to spend forever with and I'm looking forward to growing and learning together. He is a wonderful man and I love him very much.

Catching up

I have just been going to school and Richard has been working. Last week was midterms and I only had one midterm to take. It was in business law and I was pretty nervous to take it. It turns out I got one hundred percent on it. The grades for midterm were posted today and as of right now I have straight A's in all of my classes. It's a relief to know that I'm doing well and that half of the semester is over. Richard's dad has been getting a lot of work lately, so Richard is busy now and will continue to stay busy.

Lately we have been spending a lot of time cleaning up the yard and making plans to build a fence, plant grass, and just make the yard look nice. A couple weeks ago we cut down two pine trees in the back yard. Nash Rasmussen has a man lift, so he came over and helped Richard. We were able to get most of the mess cleaned up that same day. We carried the branches off to a burn pile and Ben Schneider came and took the rest for fire wood. We are grateful for the help because it made a big job much easier and faster. There were a ton of electrical wires all around the trees we cut done. This made the job a little trickier, but they only hit them a couple of times and no harm was done.

Valentines Day 2010

Our Valentines Day this year was good and we both enjoyed spending time together. For Richard, I made him a candle light dinner and decorated our room. I wouldn't tell him what I was making so it was kind of a surprise. I made BBQ ribs, baked potatoes, peas, salad, and rolls. It turned out well and it tasted yummy. Richard enjoyed it and that was the most important thing to me. Before we ate Richard surprised me with 2 liters of Dr. Pepper and flowers! I loved them both! He picked the flowers out all by himself and he made them look similar to my wedding bouquet. After we ate dinner I finished decorating our room for Richard. I got a bunch of balloons to go behind our bed. Then for the hard part I cut out over 60 hearts to put around our room. I put most of the hearts on ribbon and hung them from the ceiling so it was "raining love" in our room. I put the rest of the hearts on the bed. I split the hearts up into three groups. Some were coupons, some were what I love about Richard, and some were just conversation heart sayings. When Richard saw the room he liked it and liked the coupons and reading what I love about him. After I showed him the room he had one more surprise for me. He got me a purple necklace which I love. All in all our Valentines day was fantastic and will be well remembered.

Christmas 2009

Our Christmas celebration started on Wednesday after Bob, Dani, and Addie arrived. Richard and I headed out to my parents house to eat tacos for dinner and to take part in a family tradition. The cool thing about this family tradition is that Nick and Lindi got to be a part of it even though they were in Las Vegas.

On Christmas Eve Richard worked for part of the day and I went and hung out at my parents house with my mom, Dani, and Addie. That night Richard and I went to his parents house to celebrate Christmas Eve with Eric's family, Shane's family, Grandpa and Grandma Walker, and Great Grandma Walker. We had a great dinner and then Craig read the Christmas story from Luke while the kids put the Nativity scene together. After that we opened our family gifts from each other and the kids opened one gift.

On Christmas Day Richard and I woke up and opened our presents to each other at home. Then we went over to Richard's parents house and enjoyed breakfast just us and them. Afterwards we opened presents from each other and played with a cool little remote car that Richard received. Next we headed out to my parents to spend Christmas day with my family. Once we got there we opened presents and then worked on the always famous puzzle until Christmas dinner was ready. To explain the puzzle- every year Bob buys a puzzle as a family gift so that we can all put it together. Our relationship with the puzzle tradition is a love hate one. Mostly for Bob it is just love :). Anyway my mom prepared a wonderful meal as always. After we ate we worked on the puzzle some more and then watched Julie & Julia to take a break from the puzzle. To end the night we once again worked on the puzzle for a while and then Richard and I went home.

Saturday Richard and I slept in and then a little after noon went to the bowling alley for the Walker Christmas party. We bowled a few games and visited with the family. Later on we went to my parents house and hung out for a bit. Then around seven my parents and Bob, Dani, and Addie went to a Christmas party for a bit while Richard, me, and Jake Bischoff went to Old Dogs at the Hyart. After the movie we went back out to my parents house to play Tripoly- which I totally kicked butt at and beat everyone! On Sunday Richard and I went to church and then for dinner went out to my parents house. On Monday I took down my Christmas decorations inside and spent time with Dani and Addie out at my parents house. That night we ate pizza and played a few games. Richard and I went home and said our goodbyes to Bob,Dani, and Addie because they went home the next morning.

New Years Eve Richard and I decided to have a little party with some of our friends. I made lil' smokies and wings and people brought pop, chips, and dip. We had Matthew, Charlene, Daniel, Kasi, Meredith, and Matt come over to celebrate the new year with us. We played Phase 10 for what seemed like forever. Then we snacked on some food while we watched Taken. We paused the movie to bring in the new year right before midnight. Finished the movie and then for the rest of the night or morning I guess we visited with each other.

That wraps up 2009 for us and it was a great year. We hope that next year is even better and Richard and I wish everyone a Happy New Year!

Our First Christmas Tree

Our first Christmas tree turned out pretty good. I like it a lot and I love the Christmas spirit it brings into our home. It has also been fun to decorate for Christmas. We don't have a lot but it's enough to make our home feel more like Christmas. My mom bought me most of our Christmas decorations because she had my name this year and that is what I asked for. So thanks mom for the great gift. Also Careen helped me make the bow that is on our Christmas tree and it's my favorite part. So here are some pictures for you to enjoy.

I went on the tour of homes that the woman’s club does and they had a drawing to win something. Well my name was drawn and I won this nice Nativity set!

Two down, two to go

I made it through the 09/fall semester. I had my last final on Tuesday and now have a break until January 19th. This last semester I took all online classes and it went pretty well. It took some getting used to but I think I caught on fast and I came out with one B for sure and I think the rest will be A's. Next semester I will be taking all traditional classes and will be driving to Powell Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I thought I was going to graduate in the spring but my planes changed and I will hopefully be graduating in the fall of 2010. I switched my major to business, so I will be able to use that knowledge someday for my own massage business. I plan on becoming a massage therapist once I graduate from Northwest. I found this great distance program out of Salt Lake City that I am going to obtain my certification from. I was thinking about going to Billings but I would have to be gone three to four days out of the week and that didn't sound very fun. This way I can stay home and be with Richard. I'm excited that I finally figured out what I want to do and thought I would let everyone know about it. For right now I'm looking forward to Christmas and a break from school.

This is really late, but I still wanted to post it. Also I did have pictures to go with it, but I accidentally erased them off of my camera. Anyway here is the post. It was Richard's Birthday on November, Friday the 13th. We had a little family get together at his parents house Friday night. We celebrated his dad's birthday also because it was on Wednesday the 12th. Friday morning I went over to Careen's to learn how to make Richard's favorite birthday cake, which is Devils Food Cake with white home made frosting. That night we had his parents, my parents, his sister Becky's family, his brother Eric's family, and his brother Shane's family come to celebrate. We just ate cake and ice cream and visited. It was nice and we want to tell everyone thanks for coming. Richard didn't get anything too exciting for his birthday and nothing was a surprise, but that is okay. He got some 22 bullets, three new t-shirts, and a floating frame with a couple of scriptures that he likes. My sister Lindi made it for him and we also want to thank her for taking the time to do that. Happy Birthday Richarch! I love you!

Hi!! This is a shout out from Dani's house in Lingle, Wyoming. Katie and I headed down to Lingle yesterday and picked Lindi up at the Casper Airport as she flew in from Vegas for the week. It only took us 2 hours longer to get to Dani's house from Casper because of the WONDERFUL roads, which were covered in ice... BLACK ice that is... did you know that black ice is like the devil?... It's true, you can't see it but the evil is always there! Anyways... back to the story... we made it to Lingle SAFELY around 12 am. :)

As you can see, my daughters and I are having a good time creating this post together and you will see the same one on all of their blogs as well. NOW... the reason why we're posting...

Transforming our House

I know my mom already blogged about Richard and I painting our house, but I'm still going to blog about it anyway. I knew she would beat me to it. She is just WAY to fast for me to keep up with. Anyhow, on Saturday we painted our house and both of our parents helped us. We are so spoiled with all the help we get, but truly we are blessed and we are grateful for that. So technically this house isn't "ours" but we are renting it from Eric and Becca. Part of the deal is that we fix it up while we live here so we picked a color pallet and started working. I was so happy because we got two coats on the house in one day. I really didn't want to have to get the mess back out to finish, so it's good we did it all in one day. We love the color and how good the house looks with just a point job. The next step is to bend white aluminum around all the window and door frames. Then we will be getting black shutters, door knobs, and step railing. We are also going to get the doors spray painted white with car paint. So it is a work in progress and we are excited to see the finished look.

Labor Day Weekend

For Labor Day weekend Richard and I went camping up on the Big Horns. We camped with Craig and Careen, Becky and Greg and their kids, and David and Jenny Rael. We went up Friday night, ate a great dinner and sat around the camp fire and talked until bed time. On Saturday we had some breakfast and took all the kids on a four wheeler ride. Richard and I took a nap and then we all ate smoked ribs for dinner that David made. They were really good along with potatoes and corn on the cob. We went down that night to go to church in the morning. After church we all went back onto the mountain and stayed until Monday night. We had another good dinner on Sunday night and stayed up talking around the camp fire. On Monday the girls went with David and Jenny so the rest of us went on a four wheeler ride without the kids. In the middle of our ride Richard and I stopped and hiked down to see the Porky Pine falls. The falls are really pretty and we found some raspberry bushes so we had a little snack. The hike back up was a lot harder then going down. I'm really out of shape and it pretty much kicked my butt. Richard was very patient and waited for me every time I had to stop. After we finished our ride we went back to camp and had a sandwich and cleaned everything up and come down off the mountain. Richard and I just want to thank his family for letting us tag along and also letting us stay in his parents camper. It was a fun time and a nice little break.

End of Summer

I know, how weird, I haven't posted in forever. Anyhow I thought I would let you all know about the end of our summer. The end of our summer consisted of traveling, being away from each other for the first time, spending time with family, and working. Around the middle of July Becky asked me to go to Idaho and Utah with her and her kids. I wasn't sure about going at first because it would be the first time that Richard and I would be apart since we got married. I decided to go anyway and we left on a Friday morning and came back on a Tuesday. We drove through Yellowstone Park and went to Swan Lake first to see Stephanie. I stayed with them for one night and then met up with Bob and Dani and stayed with them for the rest of the time. It was fun to spend time with them both and Dani alone. On Monday I went shopping with Becky, Stephanie, and Celeste. I enjoyed spending time with my sister in-laws and also my nieces and nephews. The ride home got kind of long because I was missing Richard and wanted to home. Once we finally got home being with Richard was great and I really missed him.

After we got home I was only there until the next Thursday because we went to Idaho. Richard and I, his parents, and his brother Shane and his wife Shara all went to Idaho because they got a job replacing a deck for some people that Stephanie works for. While we were there I was able to spend a day with Bob, Dani, Lindi, and Nick while helping Bob and Dani pack. I got to spend the day with them and then Richard showed up around seven and we went to dinner at the Copper Mill and then played a couple rounds of Tripoly . It was so fun to spend time with both of my sisters and it was great having everyone together. We stayed for and week and then headed back home only to leave after one day. The one day we were home we spent with Richard's family at the Cody museum and watched the new Harry Potter movie.

The next day we headed to Lingle, WY to help unpack Bob and Dani. My parents had already been to Logan and packed them up and drove to Lingle. We stayed for the weekend helping them settle and exploring their new home. We came home on Sunday and on Tuesday Richard left again for four days to go finish the job in Idaho and I stayed home. It was a long four days and I kept scaring myself at night time, so I was very excited when Richard came home. Once he came home we have stayed home. Once all of that was over I had a week until school started. So I got everything ready for school and have been doing online classes for two weeks now. Everything is just great and we are loving life right now!

Last Thursday Richard and I were able to go Yellowstone and see Old Faithful for with some of his family. We drove up with Becky and her kids and we were apart of a three car train. Two of Richard's aunts came also. Aunt Susan brought Great Grandma Walker with her and one of her nieces. Aunt Karen brought three of her kids. We all had a walkie talkie to communicate while on our way to Old Faithful. This was the first time for both Richard and I to see Old Faithful so it was pretty fun. We enjoyed spending time with family and grateful we got to go.

Lovell's Days

Last week was good ole Lovell's Days or Mustang Days either way it' the same thing. During this week Nick and Lindi came home to visit and stayed with Richard and I. It was very fun and Richard and I enjoyed having them stay with us. The week was pretty busy so there was a lot to schedule in. First before I talk about the week I want to talk about just getting Nick and Lindi to Lovell. They had some trouble at the Las Vegas air port and ended up not being able to make their flight. So instead of flying into Billings they had to fly into Great Falls which is 6 hours away from Lovell. By the time they knew they had to fly into Great Falls my parents, Richard, and I were already on our way to Billings. We knew if we had to drive all the way to Great Falls we would have been an all nighter so we thought of something else. Once we got to Billings I called Hertz and found out there was one in Great Falls and in Bozeman so we told them to rent a car in Great Falls and Drive to Bozeman and we would meet them there. Well that all work out and we ended up getting home at 3:30 in the morning.

Through out the rest of the week different events were planned. On Monday night Nick and Lindi hung out with Nick's family so Richard and I got to stay home and go to bed early, It was super. On Tuesday night Lindi had a Stampin' Up party so I went to that and it was a pretty good time. It turned out great and Lindi did a super good job. On Wednesday Richard and I went with Nick and Lindi to a BBQ with some of their friends. On Thursday night Richard and I went to out to my parents house and ate dinner with them and our family friends, the Poague's. After dinner we went to the good ole Follies and meet Nick and Lindi there. Friday night is when there is a lot going on. To start off we went to Family fun night for a bit and help my mom at the fishing pond. That ended a bit early because it got rained out so that means all the other events planned got rained out too. So for the rest of the night my parents, Nick and Lindi, and Richard and I went to Pizza on the Run and ate and then went to the movie in Lovell. On Saturday We went to the good ole parade, ate BBQ sandwhiches at the park and play some football, and went to the fireworks. Sunday Nick and Lindi left, but before they did they cooked us a fantastic lunch and cleaned up the house a bit while Richard and I were at church. It was very kind of them and we really appreciated it. Overall it was a great week and we had a fun time. I was excited to spend some time with my sister and we hope to visit them in Vegas soon!

Oh also during the week my sister and I got our hair cut and we dyed it at home!

On Saturday the 16th Richard and I had a BBQ with some of our friends at our house. We thought it would be fun to get everyone together because school just got done and everyone was going to be leaving to do their summer thing. This was also the first time Richard and I had people over to our house, so that was exciting. We went to Cody on Friday night to buy the supplies we needed to throw a decent BBQ. We also bought our first grill, because that was a must for a decent BBQ. All day Saturday we cleaned the house, worked on the yard, and set everything up. Our friends started showing up around 6 o'clock, and we started grilling at 6:30. Richard grilled and did fantastic job! We all eat and visited until about 8:30. We were deciding on what to do next while everyone helped clean up, which was nice because it was done in ten mins. We all decided to go bowling and then come back to the house and play games. The night turned out to be a good time and we are happy we were able to spend time with everyone.

This morning I took my last final and I am free from school and homework for three whole months! I love the sound of that. I know that a lot of people have already been done for a while so this seems like old news, but I'm excited. Now that I'm done with school for a bit hopefully I'll find some more time to blog. I will try to put up some pictures of our house soon!

It Has Been a While

Sorry it has been so long since I have posted anything. I don't have anything specific to share, but I thought I would just catch everyone up with our life. Richard is still going to work everyday and is still loving what he does. I still go to school everyday and only have a few more weeks left which is super exciting. We are both definitely ready for summer weather and some summer fun. We had a great Easter weekend and did some fun stuff. On Saturday Richard's Aunt Susan had an Easter egg hunt for the little kids. So the grown ups could have some fun (it's weird that I'm considered a "grown up" now) she hide a golden egg and a silver egg for them to find. No one was really looking for them so they ended up telling Richard were the silver egg was because his uncle David had found the gold egg. Inside the silver egg was some candy and a date night to the Hyart. So tonight we are going to use it and go see "Knowing!" Thanks for putting that together Aunt Susan!
We are going to move into Eric and Becca's house pretty soon, so we are excited for that and it will be nice to have some more space for our stuff. Also next week Bob and Dani are coming home because my dad is branding so we will all be helping with that. Richard and I are excited to see Bob and Dani and to get our brand on. Just so everyone knows the only reason I have a blog is because my talented, wonderful sister Lindi set it up for me and actually did the first and second posts. So thanks Lindi Jo it looks super cute and I promise I will get better at this whole blogging thing.

The Beginning

This blog was created by my sister, Lindi, because I wasn't really too excited about starting one and so she HAPPILY volunteered. I've promised her that if she just started it for us, I'd keep it all up to date! :) We're currently on our honeymoon in Park City, Utah so we'll catch up when we get home!! :)
We wanted to thank EVERYONE who helped make our reception possible. The turn out was great and it was so good to see that many people there. We are opening our gifts when we return as well, so I'll keep you posted on all the goodies we got!
